A Wolf Awaits
by Abbas Kiarostami
Inspired by an haiku from Abbas Kiarostami, this mural transforms the house façade into a symbolic portal between the human and the natural world. A wolf approaches a silver river, while a woman emerges in an ambiguous stance — suspended between reason and instinct, civilization and wildness. Together, they mirror one another, embodying the tension between opposing forces that reside within us.
The windows interrupt the landscape like fragmented mirrors of the human condition. As they look out, the residents are confronted with a sensory extension of themselves — where nature is not just a backdrop, but an integral part of identity.
The Wolf Awaits invites contemplation of the duality we carry: between restraint and desire, presence and instinct.
